Not All Full Spectrum CBD Is Created Equal
Leaving an extract alone is the least processed thing anyone in this trade can do and the easiest to get badly wrong, because whatever the crop absorbed is still sitting in the bottle. Hemp is unusually good at drawing metals and residues up out of the ground it grows in. Farming our own on certified organic land is not a story we tell for the sake of it, it is the only method we know that makes an unrefined extract something we would be willing to sell.
What the phrase covers varies enormously between sellers, so here is ours precisely. Supercritical CO2 extraction in our own facility, no chemical solvent that would then need purging, and no subsequent refining step that pulls anything back out. Whatever left the plant goes into the product. Where a label says RAW, no heat was applied afterwards either, so CBDa remains in the acid form the growing plant actually builds.

What Is Full Spectrum CBD
Full spectrum describes an extract that nobody has taken anything out of after it left the plant. Cannabidiol is the reason most people are reading, and it comes accompanied by the minor cannabinoids hemp also produces, the terpenes responsible for how hemp smells, and the trace tetrahydrocannabinol present in quantities nowhere near anything intoxicating. Removing any of that requires another refining step, and full spectrum is the category defined by declining to take it.
RAW is a second and separate distinction, and it sits inside full spectrum rather than alongside it. Cannabinoids begin their lives as acids, so a growing plant makes CBDa rather than CBD, and heat converts one into the other in a reaction called decarboxylation. Anything marked RAW never met that heat. Anything unmarked went through it on purpose. Both are equally full spectrum and neither is a better version of the other.
Beyond a preference for less processing, the reason people seek this out is a proposal called the entourage effect, which suggests the compounds in a whole extract work on one another rather than separately. It is a live area of research and it has not been settled, and we are not going to write as though it has. What is verifiable is what the certificate reports, and that is where we would rather the argument rested.
What Can Full Spectrum CBD Be Used For?
Start from the format, because the extract is constant across all of them. The practical question is how you would rather take it and how much say you want over the quantity.
The list runs across formats rather than up through strengths. None of it describes an effect, because no cannabidiol product sold in Britain may be presented as having one.

That nobody removed anything after extraction. Minor cannabinoids, terpenes and the trace THC the plant made are all still there. Take the THC out and it becomes broad spectrum. Refine it down to cannabidiol alone and it becomes isolate.
