CBD has shown promising results in treating people who abuse substances, by reducing withdrawal symptoms and cravings. CBD has powerful antioxidant and anti- inflammatory properties that can protect against the overproduction of glutamate transmissions caused by drug and alcohol addiction, which can result in the brain to having neurotoxicity.
CBD research has shown to aid the treatment of addiction symptoms linked to:
- Prescription medication dependency
- Substance abuse
Is CBD Good for Hormone Imbalance?
CBD stimulates the cannabinoid receptors in your endocannabinoid system. This system influences hormone production by regulating the functions of the pineal, pituitary and thyroid glands. When hormone imbalances occur, it’s usually due to the overproduction of cortisol. If our balance of testosterone and estrogen are out of sync, for example, our bodies go into stress mode. A balance is needed for our systems to stay in homeostasis. When our hormones are imbalanced, it can affect our overall mood, sex drive and skin.

Insulin is important in regulating blood sugars and converting them into energy, which is why it’s important to keep it at a healthy level. CBD oil works to lower blood sugar levels naturally, and also helps regulate nausea, vomiting and stomach acid regulation.
