Konbini published an article on the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in the UK declaring cannabidiol is good for you.
Research shows cannabidiol has a “restoring, correcting or modifying” effect on “physiological functions” in humans.
This statement was made by the MHRA, the UK government funded regulatory agency. Emperor Fu Hsi already knew this in 2900 BC. It has taken quite some time for modern people to catch up, it seems.
A report published by the MHRA states the review was completed after all information available relating to cannabidiol (CBD) was considered, and all scientific evidence and advice was taken into account.

If only all medicines restored health
It was decided that products containing cannabidiol would satisfy the second part of the definition describing ‘medicinal products ’. “Because it is used or administered with a view to restore, correct or modify physiological functions by exerting a pharmacological, immunological or metabolic action, or to make a medical diagnosis” stated the report.
If only all medicine restored health instead of suppressing symptoms as most medicines do.
Will this change cannabis law
These “ground-breaking” results may bring about medical cannabis law reform in the UK, but then again, the recent response to a huge petition to legalize cannabis was met with reproach. It was made clear there are no plans to legalize marijuana as “substantial scientific evidence shows cannabis is a harmful drug that can damage human health” and “can unquestionably cause harm to individuals and society.”
Shortly after this, the MHRA declared that cannabidiol fulfills the definition of a medicine, and that it can no longer be sold as a health supplement in the UK. Wonders never cease!
How does cannabidiol restore health?
The discovery of cannabinoids in cannabis led to the discovery of the endogenous cannabinoid system. It is considered to be the most important physiological system involved in creating and maintaining health. Endocannabinoids, and their receptors, are present throughout the body, always performing the same task, to bring about homeostasis. This means that the function of the endocannabinoid system is naturally maintaining a stable internal environment despite change in the external environment.
Homeostasis or equilibrium is promoted by cannabinoids at every level of biological life, from sub-cellular level to organisms, and perhaps even beyond. The complex actions of the endocannabinoid system can be seen as a bridge between body and mind. By gaining an understanding of the mechanism of this system, we are beginning to understand that states of consciousness can promote health or disease.
Cannabinoids influence the relationship of a person with the external environment. Socially the administration of some cannabinoids clearly changes behavior, encouraging sharing, humor, and creativity. Cannabinoids also bring about growth of nervous tissues, nerve cell plasticity and learning. Thus, it is believed that cannabinoids influence a person’s open-mindedness, and the ability to change patterns of limited thinking. This reformatting of old patterns is essential to our health in an ever-changing environment.
Cannabidiol oil as a daily supplement is a way of restoring balance or homeostasis, and helps maintain a healthy environment in our bodies.
Is the UK government about to take a hundred and eighty degree turn on their viewpoint? Only time will tell as politicians decide which facts they choose to put first.
