Irish Times reports on a mother urging Simon Harris, Minister of Health, to support the medical cannabis bill.
Vera Twomey, mother of six-year-old Ava Barry, from Aghabullogue is calling on Simon Harris, Minister of Health, to support the bill for medical cannabis to be passed to enable doctors to prescribe cannabis for certain medical conditions.
Ava suffers from Dravet syndrome, a catastrophic form of epilepsy. These children have to be watched around the clock. Ava has had as many as 23 seizures in 36 hours. Vera says every seizure is scary, you never get used to them because every time you fear your child might lose their speech, or their ability to walk, or run, or laugh. Any of these seizures can cause severe damage to the brain, and any one might be fatal.
CBD for seizure from a hemp shop in Dublin
Ava started on the cannabidiol oil legally obtained from a hemp shop in Dublin earlier this month, and is practically seizure free. Mom, Vera says her daughter’s life has been transformed by the best CBD for seizure called Charlotte’s Web.
She says it is the best thing that could ever have happened to their family, the first eleven days after they started using the cannabis oil Ava was seizure free. She says it is sensational to see her daughter have so few seizures, it is as if a veil has been lifted from Ava’s life.

The Bill was introduced more than a year ago
In July 2015 People Before Profit’s Gino Kenny introduced the Cannabis for Medicinal Use Regulation Bill to the government. Vera started an online petition to get the bill passed by the Minister of Health. She is positive, and very optimistic that the Bill will be passed.
Her only fear is that in time Ava may build resistance to the CBD oil for seizure, or Charlotte’s Web and she might need medicinal cannabis containing some THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, which is illegal in Ireland.
She says, “I am just worried that if we need to we won’t be able to access the THC form of the plant. We need legislation passed so Ava can get a prescription from a doctor.”
Doctors should be prescribing CBD for seizures
Doctors should also be able to prescribe CBD oil to patients who suffer seizures, she said. There shouldn’t be this grey area where she has to rely on a hemp shop in Dublin to get a medicine.
Best CBD for seizure
Many people will not be as brave as Vera had to be in order to to try some oil from a hemp shop not approved by a doctor, or the medical fraternity. She was desperate enough, and more and more people are speaking out on the amazing results they had using the best CBD for seizures.
A medicine such as this should be available to every parent whose child suffers from these severe seizures, and it can almost be considered a crime against humanity if they don’t have access because of a law that prevents them from doing so.
