A journalist from Colorado Springs Independent describes his experience of a CBD-infused massage.
Yelena Kudrya, suffered severe back pain, and was on painkillers and sleeping tablets in the hope of getting some relief. She couldn’t sit for longer than 15 minutes at a time.
Early in 2013, she discovered CBD-infused lotions and massage. It helped her to recover, and after six months she was fully functional. She decided to train as a professional masseuse to help people with CBD for muscle tension as she was helped. She lived in Philadelphia where CBD oil was illegal at the time, and she decided to move to Colorado where it was legal. She started her business, Yaden, in January 2015.
She now uses what helped her to heal on her patients. Yelena prepares the infusion of oils herself, and says she likes using high CBD strains such as Harlequin, which is sativa dominant. She then likes to add an indica strain to get all the cannabinoids present in the infusion. Finally she adds concentrated CBD oil to further enhance the relaxing power of the massage oil.
CBD-infused oil relax muscles deeply
The journalist who went for a massage with Kudrya found every aspect of the massage was enhanced. He was more relaxed on the table than with a conventional massage, and the relaxation lingered for longer afterwards. The result was that he felt well worked, and that he felt he had more time on the table than what the clock showed.
Kudrya says, 80% of her clients prefer the CBD-infused option, which doesn’t cost more. The clients she uses it on must be over the age of 21, not that the oil would make patients high or show up on a drug screen. Her clients range from blue-collar workers to preachers; it is not a drug experience she offers, just a more relaxing massage.
She says the CBD oil makes her work easier as it reduces inflammation and improves on her massage technique, helping her to work deeper on tissues. In her experience, the knots in muscles are loosened easier when she uses CBD oil for massage.

Topical CBD oil for pain
The idea of using CBD oil topically for pain, muscle spasm and tension is not a new one. A CBD product range for menstrual pain includes topical CBD oils as the CBD is absorbed through the skin, and brings relief to areas cramping with pain.
Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD), the two primary cannabinoids in cannabis help the uterine muscles to relax, in the same way that it is believed to provide relief to Multiple Sclerosis patients suffering muscle spasms.
Going further back in time, the royal physician, Sir J. R. Reynolds, prescribed cannabis in 1890 to Queen Victoria for her period pains.
CBD oil for muscle tension
Masseuse Yelena Kudrya swears by her CBD oil massages, and it would seem that she is by far not the only one who believes that topically applied CBD oil for tension really does work. Now, the Colorado Springs Independent journalist has had first-hand experience of a CBD oil massage, he’s ready to agree too.
