Wednesday this week in Brussels sees an event dedicated to the discussion of medical cannabis and its uses, with speakers coming from all over the European Union.
Organised by the European United Left, ‘The International Conference on Medical Cannabis’ will look at issues such as the current legal status in member states, its prescription for pain relief and cancer, resolving legal barriers for hemp and examples of best practice from other countries.
Dr Franjo Grotenhemen, President of the International Association for Cannabinoids in Medicine will speak about Germany’s new medical cannabis programme, Saul Kaye, on Israel’s research and regulatory environment, and Carola Perez on the Spanish Observatory for Medicinal Cannabis and the current situation of cannabis dispensation in Spain.
Closing the conference is Spanish molecular biologist and key researcher into cannabis and cancer, Manuel Guzmán, who will shine a light on some of the latest research into therapeutic cannabinoids.
