High CBD extract: why you need it and how to recognize it
If you’re looking for a high CBD extract from hemp, you may just have your work cut out. But we help you to find out where to get what you’re looking for. The first question we need to address is why you want a high CBD extract in the first place, the second is how to know that your CBD extract really is high in CBD.

Why do you need a high CBD extract?
By now, most of us know that a high CBD extract would come from a hemp extract. CBD is exciting interest among health and natural healing enthusiasts, for its uses for which it is still being tested with promising results. Bow, if CBD is what you want, the less ‘filler’ ingredients you want to get. You may prefer a whole plant extract, but then the CBD concentration will be lower. Otherwise, you may be looking for relatively pure CBD from a natural source.
You could be looking at 98% pure CBD crystals, or you might want a whole plant extract containing 15% or more CBD. Either way, you need to know that the CBD percentage is verifiable.
How can you know it’s a high CBD extract?
This is a tricky question to answer. You certainly can’t tell just by looking. Several manufacturers claim to have independent laboratory results proving their claims, but are the results real or fake? Unfortunately, there is a strong economic incentive for saying that a particular extract is high in CBD, but these claims are not always legitimate.
The only way you can know that this kind of product is what it says on the container, is to get a certified product. GMP certification for CBD Oils is available in the EU, but no certifications are available for US made products.
GMP certification is applied to products like pharmaceuticals and foods. GMP certification isn’t easy to get, and it’s very easy to lose, so you may be certain that any company with GMP certification will ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are adhered to. That also includes correct product labelling as well as absolute product safety.
Assurances you can’t get in the US
Regretfully, the FDA is concerned that CBD will give patients ‘false hope’ despite recent research progress. You can produce and sell hemp oil in the US, but the whole CBD issue, though not covered by anti-drug laws is somewhat problematic for the FDA at this stage. That means you can’t get a properly certified high CBD extract that has been made in the United States.
The only solution for those who want to be absolutely sure that the hemp extracts they’re getting is a pure, high CBD extract, is to look further afield. It is to be hoped that this situation will change in the near future, but for the present, sourcing independently certified high CBD extracts from Europe is the only sure-fire way to know that your product really is what it says it is.
