Endoca is back in the Central American rainforest for the last time, as it meets the people who make chicle – the natural gum made from tree sap – that forms the basis of Endoca CBD chewing gum.
Journeying into the unknown
I was going to Mexico without any expectations, I just wanted to meet people who are chicle producers and to get to know them better, as greater personal relations helps us to understand each other needs.
I have had a dream before my trip that maybe Endoca village could establish a village friendship there, but nothing more.
I was going deep into jungle and I thought I would learn a lot about the plants of rainforest. I was repeating the names which I mostly everybody knows: Mahogany, Ramon, Zapota, Melyna….and then I was trying to remember the new names of the wild plants, which people of the village had showed me.

But when I saw the orchid garden and the amazing variety of these plants growing wild, I lost track and decided just to enjoy the beauty and forget the names, indeed to forget reality.
The deeper into forest I was penetrating, the more I understood that it takes a life time to learn all these plants and to discover their secrets.
I was behaving like a child – curious at everything I saw and heard. Everything was so new! People were smiling and I felt they were encouraging me to go deeper.
Village opens their hearts to Endoca
They opened the secrets of their ejido, showing me every corner of the village. They told me details about everyday life and my visit, they said, was also valued as they understood that what they take for granted is already forgotten about in the biggest part of civilization on our planet. The invitation for a “Visita Privado” was a sign that we understood each other and they wanted to share.
When we were chatting I told them about Endoca village and about the company. I told them about Endoca being a pioneer to return Hemp plant back to the people and to our planet. I told them also that at Endoca people work hard together with scientists who share the same goal – to unlock the secrets of nature. They listened very attentively and asked me if Endoca wants also to unlock the secrets of Jungle?
“Yes, with your help of course” – was my reply. They became more open and even started to make jokes about each other and were laughing even more. The atmosphere was so friendly and relaxed that I felt like being at home among my own family.
The last day we met at the factory which is owned by the chicleros community. All the chicleros decided to make a pilot project and to unite together. Instead of producing and selling separately, they want a decent pay for hard work. During the meeting I noticed how they already knew a lot about Endoca and about Endoca CBD Chewing gum. The also tasted it and liked it very much. I could feel strongly that they wanted to continue a relationship with us.
Endoca Village and Chicle community – friendship made on shared values
They suggested to make a ‘Fair Trade’ and to become friends in trading chicle. They believed that Endoca is an honest company and has similar values, but that we all need resources to live and fair trade is the way that can bring balance. We could all learn from each other, inspiring each other to make the planet a better place for us and for our children and grandchildren.
I showed them the sunset from the Endoca village last summer and I also took a picture of the sun going down in the jungle village. We agree that the sun was looking the same from both places and our villages are like twins so we shook hands and made an agreement – from now on we will be twin villages.
My Endoca adventure into the jungle and the discovery of a twin brother or sister was more than I ever expected could happen.
The end and the sunset of the story but not of life
