Endoca is journeying into the Central American rainforest to meet the people who make chicle – the natural gum made from tree sap – that forms the basis of Endoca CBD chewing gum.
As it is still winter time at the Endoca village in Spain, we are heading to warmer climates. This time our destination is Central America, to learn about where ‘chicle’ – the key ingredient of Endoca CBD chewing gum – comes from.
We’ll be establishing a friendship with a ‘chicle village’ in the rainforest near Belize, where we’ll learn how it is possible to live in harmony with nature.

Travelling across the world to meet new friends
From the window of my plane towards Frankfurt I look out onto the snow and sun. From Frankfurt I will fly for 10 hours to Cancun and then take a local plane to my destination.
Manuel Angel will pick me up from the airport and Manuel Roberto in the morning at 6:00am from the hotel. Together we will ride to the rainforest to see its beauty at sunrise.
Manuel must be as popular as the name Clas in Scandanavia, so probably in the end I will call them Angel and Roberto.
Roberto is a film maker and he will be filming the life in the chicle village, so we can show everyone who likes Endoca’s natural chewing gum products how they are made and where they come from.
I can’t wait to see the majestic Sapodilla tree from which the natural gum is extracted. It’s the same technique that’s been used since the days of the Mayans and Aztecs who would mould the sap into thick blocks, cutting them into small pieces to chew.
I will also meet the ‘chiclitos people’ who work hard at getting the sap from chicle trees. I hope we will make a long lasting friendship.
At Endoca village our vision is to make the planet a better place for people and there at the chicle farm they are doing it – working hard to keep the ancient Mayan traditions alive. A timely reminder that our high technology society doesn’t guarantee us a high quality place to live.
