Greetings everyone, my name is Clint and I’m 54 and I am married with 2 grown children. I’m a musician, artist and own a small business with my wife.Ever since I was a child, I have suffered from chronic migraines, having anywhere from 1 migraine up to 4 every single week. My Neurologist had prescribed Imitrex (Sumatriptan), 100mg tablets, to abort the I have migraines once they have started.
This medication has around a 98% success rate to abort the migraine as long as I take it as soon as I feel the migraine. The only problem is my insurance covers only 9 tablets per month despite the fact my prescription allows 18 pills per month, so I have to pay out of pocket for 9 pills each month, which costs me around $160.00.
I had tried many different migraine prevention medications that you take daily to try and limit the number of migraines, however each of these medications had negative side effect that made it impossible for me to take them. The medications I was prescribed were everything from anti-seizure, antidepressants and blood pressure medications.
My nephew has mild autism and he had started using CBD to help him become more sociable, and it worked fantastically, so I did some research and saw that some migraine patients were having good results with it too so I decided to give it a try. The legality still confuses me sometimes; I think where I am located it's considered a grey zone, but I’ve also read that it’s completely legal.
It took about 4 weeks of me taking the CBD before I saw results, because I started with small doses and worked my way up to an amount that started working. I’ve also tried decarboxylated CBD oil and didn’t have very good results, but then I discovered that I needed the CBD + CBDa oil to get the results I was looking for.
I was using the 15% RAW Hemp Oil drops 3 times per day, using 100mg morning, afternoon and night. This means that I use 300mg of CBD+CBDa every day. As I told you guys before, it took about 4-6 weeks to see results, however now, I have gone from having 1-4 migraines per week, down to 2-3 per month! I’m also a “Type A” person and I have noticed that I’m generally more relaxed about things that usually drive Type A’s, such as being in control of situations and having more patience with my peers, which was interesting.
I am lucky, because my friends and family all know about me taking CBD and they are all very supportive of me. As we discussed before, CBD is still a grey area, however if tomorrow the government were to rock up to my doorstep and try to take it away, I would tell them that they would be taking away a medication that has helped my quality of life, and that even my neurologist is on board with the results I've experienced; I've even printed out a good bit of research information regarding both CBD and CBDa and provided it to her.
I've always been pro-cannabis legalisation and felt that any form of cannabis should be legal, but now that I have personally experienced these incredible results in helping to eliminate the frequency of my chronic migraines, as well as helping my nephew with his autism, I’m even more supportive for the legalization of all forms of cannabis.
I still take Imitrex, as with the dosing level I found that works for my migraines, I would go through a bottle of Endoca RAW Hemp Oil Drops 1500mg CBD + CBDa (15%) every 5 days, and just can’t afford this kind of cost, but to summarize; I just want to say that if you want to try something other than product offerings from big pharma, give CBD a try. It has been a blessing for me and my chronic migraine, and I just want to thank the entire team at Endoca for their service and top quality products.
