Father cures his daughter from seizures because a blog page writer helped him with CBD for Angelman Syndrome
Chicagonow.com gives feedback on the case of a father making contact with blog writer, Leslie Kahn, via social media. The father asked her if she could help him purchase CBD oil for his daughter, a child suffering from Angelman Syndrome. Children diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome need life-long care, as they can’t take care of themselves.

Angelman Syndrome: a rare condition
Angelman Syndrome is a rare neuro-genetic disorder with a prevalence of 1:15,000. The disorder is characterized by seizures, developmental delay, lack of speech, inability to walk and balance problems (ataxia).
Leslie says she lived in the UK 30 years ago, had no idea of the legal standing of CBD, or where one would get it. She replied to Frederick’s message telling him this, but told him that she would contact friends in London who might be able to direct him to a suitable dispensary.
In the UK, no one would care
His response was one of sincere gratitude. He told Leslie that in the UK, no one would have responded, as people don’t care about each other and their children. Doctors put children on the first and “best” medicine just to get rid of you. He also said his daughter had three seizures in a row, and that they almost lost her. He explained that he only learned about CBD a few days prior to making contact. Before he read Leslie’s blog, he had known nothing about CBD for seizures.
Leslie then directed him to some information she had put together so that people could get an understanding of the mechanism of the human endocannabinoid system, and how the cannabinoids CBD and THC react with the CB1 and CB2 receptors.
Making contact with other people
Frederick also asked Leslie to put him in contact with the family she wrote about previously, whose son Caiden has the syndrome. She also linked Frederick up with another friend in London who is a medical marijuana patient and who has suffered from epilepsy for decades. He treats his condition successfully with CBD oil only. David would be able to guide Frederick on dosage, and is a most caring person.
When Leslie contacted Frederick to ask how it was going, he told her they started on CBD oil from a cannabis strain similar to Charlotte’s Web, and that his little daughter has been seizure-free. He had also started to reduce the conventional medicine the doctor prescribed, as it causes liver damage, and he was worried about its long-term effects on his daughter.
Social media can make the world a better place
Leslie was ecstatic to hear the wonderful news and felt that the effort of writing her blog and advocating for medical cannabis had been worth the time and effort she puts into it. Even if it only changed one family’s situation from being powerless to being empowered, that’s a victory that Leslie feels justifies her work.
CBD for Angelman Syndrome
It is wonderful to have anecdotal evidence of CBD for Angelman Syndrome being a successful treatment. The greatest message in this story, however, is about human beings reaching out to each other and taking time to care. This empowers humanity because in caring lies responsibility. That takes the courage of your convictions and the guts to stand by them. Isn’t that what medical cannabis is all about?
