Having decided that I wanted to take CBD oil for the anxiety I discussed in my previous article, my next decision was to establish which CBD oil would be best suited to my particular needs.
As we know, there are now a wide variety of CBD products available ranging from edibles, tinctures, capsules, and vape oils.
While having this variety is certainly beneficial, I am someone who tends to over-analyze and research even the most basic of life decisions, so after a few days of online analysis and subsequent procrastination, I finally settled on the 1500 mg CBD oil.
My research had revealed that this particular product could prove to be one of the most beneficial when treating anxiety. Many users had spoken in glowing terms about this oil’s ability to potentially reduce anxiety and while I certainly believed their testimonies, we all know that the only way to truly understand something, is to try it for yourself.
A selection of our products
My package arrived in double-quick time and in my excitement to open it, I somehow managed to drop the bottle on my coffee table! Thankfully, the bottle held firm (a good sign of a quality product), thus preventing any sob-story letter to Endoca about my package being damaged in the delivery process (Just kidding, mail fraud is illegal folks)
Having received my package in the afternoon, I decided to wait until the following morning before beginning to use my CBD and based on Endoca’s dosage recommendation, I would start with a low dosage of 1 drop, 3 times per day before progressing to a higher dosage in week 2.
I had read that the taste of CBD Oil was, to put it politely, not rather pleasant and so, with some trepidation, I placed the first drop under my tongue and held it for 60 seconds (as advised by the wonderful people on the chat service at Endoca.com).
60 seconds passed and I had swallowed my first drop. While the taste was certainly strong, I couldn’t say that it was offensive either. For me, the taste was akin to the purest of herbs and came as something of a surprise given the testimony of some users.
While it is only normal to expect or wait for a reaction, we know that CBD does not get you high and while I was not expecting to feel an immediate difference, my first day of taking CBD was a positive one.
Normally, I am prone to anxiety in the mornings and with the pressures of life rarely taking a back seat due to our near-constant online connectivity, it is true for myself that I suffer an inability to switch off and disconnect from those technological trappings.
On occasion, I will wake up with many different thoughts and concerns which can cause the anxiety from which I suffer. Unfortunately, with access to a smartphone, I have a very bad habit of immediately reaching for my phone and checking my emails, notifications, etc.
But on this day, I decided that as well as taking CBD for the first time, I would also discipline myself into avoiding my phone for the first hour of the day.
Following this initial period, I immediately felt a difference. That pain in my stomach caused by negative thoughts had been replaced by a clearer sense of purpose for my day ahead.
While I had previously adopted the horrible habit of going straight for my phone, I made a conscious decision to ignore that temptation, and instead chose to eat a nice breakfast, take a drop of CBD oil and ease myself into the day with a nice long shower.
Perhaps the decision to take CBD oil had acted as a placebo for my natural desire to reduce my symptoms, but there was no doubt that my first morning with CBD oil in my bloodstream was much more productive than many of the mornings that had preceded it.
Following a relaxed morning talking with my partner, I enjoyed a nice lunch, took another drop of CBD in the afternoon and began to do some writing.
CBD Brings Clarity and Focus
Sometimes, it is, unfortunately, true that my ability to write has at times been impaired by my anxiety. Too many thoughts in the head rarely lead to clear and effective writing but on this day, I was able to sit down, uninterrupted (except for a couple of coffee breaks) and write freely and clearly for the next 6 hours. I had written two articles in one session, just over 2000 words.
Truly, the best cure for my anxiety has always been writing. It has, on so many occasions for me proved to be a tremendous catharsis. As someone who has always found true joy in the process of creation, it is also true that there have been many points in my life where symptoms have stifled that creativity but on this day, there were no negative thoughts in my head or nervous pains in my belly.
Over the course of the next 6 days, I decided to maintain the routine that had proved so effective on my first day of using CBD. 1 drop, 3 times a day and no phones before I’ve given my brain a chance to fully wake up.
I am happy to report that the first week of CBD use has been a good one. I worked more, and longer than I normally would, while the feelings that had clouded many of my recent mornings were beginning to fade.
At this stage, I can clearly feel a difference in my brain and in my body. I am feeling more focused, energized yet calm, and far less aware of the potentially negative thoughts and worries that so often have been the cause of my feelings.
While my CBD journey is only just beginning, I am already feeling a greater sense of personal optimism and clarity in my thoughts and while I am not yet fully healed in my fight against anxiety, there can be no doubt that my initial experience has been an incredibly positive one.
