Vogue Williams visits L.A. and writes for Sunday World on her insight into cannabis for kids suffering from epilepsy and cancer.
In her opinion, if she were a mother, and her child was sick, she would do anything to ease their pain or make them better even if it meant using medical cannabis. She recalls reading an interview with a mom from Ireland whose two-year-old son suffered from Dravet syndrome since birth. Her son Tristan suffered up to 20 seizures a day. His mom decided to take action but couldn’t use medical marijuana in Ireland as it could land her in jail. She had no option but to move to Colorado where medical marijuana was legal. Seven months later Tristan is seizure free. It was all worth it.
These are the lengths parents will go to in order to alleviate their children’s suffering. It is astounding, and unimaginable if you are not in a similar situation.
Mom becomes an activist
Tracy Ryan is another crusading mom who turned to cannabis to find a cure. Her daughter, Sophie’s brain tumor was inoperable. Tracy was more fortunate in the sense that she didn’t have to leave her country and uproot her sick child, to get the help she needed. Tracy lives in California where medical marijuana treatment is legal.
After two years of medical marijuana treatment with cannabis oil in conjunction with chemotherapy, Sophie’s tumor has shrunk and she was saved from the prognosis of going blind. She is thriving and the cannabis also improved her appetite.
Mom Tracy promotes the development of cannabis oil for cancer in young children and has helped 500 children in just two years. She has even helped parents relocate to California to get treatment for their kids.

Another mom who fought a hard battle
Yet another mom, Sierra Riddle, mother of Landon Riddle, had to fight hard, back in 2012, to save her son from acute lymphocytic leukemia, the most common cancer in children. She also had to relocate to Colorado to be able to get medical marijuana treatment for Landon.
Here she discovered that the Stanley brothers in Colorado grew crossbred cannabis to reduce the THC and increase cannabidiol, or CBD, another compound found in cannabis. Many researchers believe in CBD as one of the most important compounds in marijuana that has medicinal benefits. The National Cancer Institute, published a statement saying that it may have significant anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-tumor activity without any psychoactive effect.
Once Sierra decided to stop the 4-year chemo plan Landon was on, she saw amazing results. There was no more need for blood transfusion and platelet transfusions. Even though she believes the chemo put Landon in remission she believed that the cannabis would keep him there.
It has been a hard road and an intense fight, as doctors threatened her with no uncertainty that if she refused chemo, they would have no choice but to report her to the proper authorities. Sierra had to find a lawyer willing to take her case.
Cannabis treatment has become normal in L.A.
The way cannabis treatment has become normalized since then is great to see. It no longer has a stigma of a drug used by losers to get stoned. Moms choose low THC variants for kids and pensioners browse through cannabis vials in medical marijuana shops to find a solution for their arthritis pain.
Medical marijuana has come a long way, and it is a revelation for Vogue Williams to see the other side of the criminalized drug she grew up with. She never smoked cannabis, but had friends who did. It seemed to affect their ability to do anything apart from smoke, eat cereal and watch TV.
But in California, she met bright professionals using cannabis to ease anxiety, boost their libido and treat chronic pain. They use the drug in an adult and informed way.
Cannabis oil for cancer
Reporter Vogue Williams realized that if she were a parent and could prevent her child from suffering, she would also consider medical marijuana if it was available. The problem is, it is not available in Ireland and in many other places around the world. One can’t help but think of how many parents out there would give anything to save their children, but not everyone is able to move to Colorado.
There are people who have made it their mission to provide those parents with reputable products. Ask your health practitioner to assist you to find the solution if your child is in need of medical cannabis oil for cancer.
