Hemp is rich in Gamma-linoleic Acid (GLA), which is a fatty acid that helps control inflammation and body temperature. GLA produces prostaglandin E1, and this reduces the effects of prolactin; a sensitivity to this hormone is believed to cause symptoms of PMS.
Hemp seeds and hemp oil are both GLA rich so adding them to your diet, specifically when suffering from the symptoms of PMS, can reduce inflammation.
