When we eat too much, it can result in hormonal shifts. Research suggests that overeating has been shown to increase insulin levels and reduce insulin sensitivity, particularly in overweight and obese people who are resistant to insulin.
But don’t restrict too much. Restricting food intake to less than 1200 calories per day has been seen to increase cortisol levels in women, so it’s best to aim above a 1200* calories per day diet.
10. Drink Green Tea
Last but not least, green tea has always been touted as a drink with a plethora of positive health benefits. In fact, research has revealed that green tea is especially beneficial for those with hormonal imbalances because it contains an antioxidant known as epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which has been linked to lower levels of breast, prostate, and colorectal cancers.
On top of this, drinking green tea can help to increase insulin sensitivity and lower insulin levels in both healthy people and those with insulin-resistant conditions like obesity and diabetes.
